History
Berggericht Kitzbühel

Berggericht is the restaurant in the heart of Kitzbühel. The historic building with the restaurant on the first floor overlooks the pedestrian zone of Hinterstadt and is located in the former Berggericht and finance office of the city of Kitzbühel. From 2015 to 2020, the historic building was extensively renovated and meticulously restored. The building is part of The European Heritage Project by Peter Löw and has been operating as one of the best restaurants in Tyrol since January 2020.

In the years 2012/13, The European Heritage Project acquired a significant part of Kitzbühel's old town: the Berggericht building from the 16th century and the Lacknerhaus from the 17th century. These buildings, along with St. Catherine's Church, form the historical core of the city. The Berggericht, as the tallest secular building, represented institutional power and influenced the city for centuries. Today, the first floor houses the renowned and award-winning gourmet restaurant.
